For Immediate Release BRS-051218-1

It was all systems GO for week two on a beautiful night at Bear Ridge Speedway. Joining the regular divisions of the 99Rock Weekly Racing Series were the WYKR Sprint Cars of New England, who always put a fantastic Show.
The pounding thunder of the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds were the first Feature of the evening going for forty laps. Mike Ryan grabbed the lead from the second starting spot when the green flag flew. Ryan survived a couple of caution flags while Walt Hammond Jr was working his way toward the front from his 5th starting spot, arriving in second with 23 laps complete and completing the pass for the lead on lap 26. While Hammond Jr started to run away from the field Adam Pierson was methodically heading to the front from his 17th starting spot, passing Ryan for second with three laps to go. At the checkers it was Walt Hammond Jr with the convincing win, Adam Pierson was second with Robert Tucker third. Mike Ryan and last weeks winner, Kevin Chaffee completed the top five.
The Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes are offering some great racing right of the box this year. While Todd Hayward leg the entire race it was by no means an easy victory as he had challenges from no less than three different competitors and had to survive a few restarts. While Hayward was up front the battle for second was intense with Josh Harrington and Matt Ellsworth swapping the spot a couple of times before Harrington started to fade. Earl Maxham then swapped the second spot with Ellsworth twice before finally finishing second in an edge of your seat battle. At the Checkers it was Todd Hayward with the win, Earl Maxham finished second with Matt Ellsworth third. Tad Kingsbury was fourth and reigning Sportsman Coupe Champion Brian Chaffee fifth.
The C.A. Miller Limited Late Models are struggling with car counts they were still able to give the fans a show. George Osgood took the lead at the drop of the green in the non stop event. Osgood held the lead for twelve laps before Ryan Christian worked his way by on the low side as Osgood ran a higher and higher line every lap. Osgood remained in second until after the white flag flew when he jumped the cushion in turn one and spun. At the finish it was Ryan Christian with the win, Billy Canton second, Kelly Miller SR third, Hunter Nutter fourth and George Osgood fifth.
The Weglarz Property Service Four Cylinders found Rodney Davis motor into the lead from the pole position, leading the first two laps before a high flying Kelly Miller Jr took the lead, bringing Bobby Bell to second with him. Miller Jr maintained the lead through two cautions while Buddy Welch was waging battle with Bell for second. Welch claimed second after a lap eleven restart and set his sights on Miller Jr., finally taking the lead with four laps to go. At the checkers it was Buddy Welch with the win, Kelly Miller Jr was second with Jason Porter third after coming from the rear after pitting for a flat tire. Garrett Brown and Danny Doyle, who also came back from a flat, completed the top five.
The WYKR Sprint Cars of New England made their first of several visits to the Ridge. The field was brought to the green by Will Hull and Matt Hoyt with Hull powering into the lead with Hoyt claiming second. While the duo of Hull and Hoyt stretched the distance from the pack a torrid side by side battle ensued between Lacey Hanson and Troy Comeau with Comeau finally getting the upper hand after a caution for a Christine Boesch spin near the halfway mark of the event. Hull and Hoyt continued to pace the field and with seven laps to go Hoyt turned up the pressure on Hull, finally taking the lead with five laps to go only to have Will Hull rocket back to the lead two laps later, but he led only a single lap before Matt Hoyt reclaimed the top spot and ran to the win, beating Will Hull by a mere .35 seconds at the finish line. Jake Williams took third with Kevin Chaffee and Troy Comeau rounding out the top five.
