Two DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds East Region Series events in 2024 scheduled at the Ridge

 For Immediate Release                                                                                                                                                                      BRS-02112024-1

Bear Ridge Speedway “the fastest dirt track in Vermont” is once again proud to announce the return of the DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds VP Racing Fuels “East Region Series” to the Ridge in 2024. 2023 was a tough year for most tracks and the Ridge was no exception when it came to rain outs. A total of six Saturday night evens were lost to mother nature with one of those being the second of the two Sportsman Modifieds East Region Series events. DIRTcar and the Ridge are set to defy mother nature in 2024 and get both of these must-see coveted events in the record books. The one event in 2023 was a huge success and the fans were afforded the amazing 4 wide parade lap. With the success and over half of the overall points finishers in the top 15 coming from the Ridge, it only makes sense for the series to return in 2024. 2024 will mark the twelfth year that the DIRTcar Banner has waved over Bear Ridge Speedway, and we couldn’t be prouder to be a part of the organization and be given an opportunity for our drivers to be recognized on a national level and be host to the East Region series events for the Sportsman Modifieds, said Promoter Butch Elms.

The series will be bookended at the Ridge, with the first event scheduled May 11th sponsored by K&W Tire Company Inc., a new sponsor in 2024. Promoters C.V. “Butch” and April May are very excited to be able to be a part of this series and honored to be afforded two dates for our drivers and fans. The second date the series will invade the Ridge will be on Saturday July 20th the last scheduled event of the series. The series will be visiting sister DIRTcar tracks Afton Motorsports Park, Afton NY, Glen Ridge Speedway. Albany Saratoga was to be a part of the special series, but scheduling conflicts prevented it from happening. We hope that it can be worked out for the 2025 series, as this is the closest sister DIRTcar track to Bear Ridge Speedway.

With the hosting of two events and knowing that several of the Ridge drivers will be strong contenders for the overall championship of this series, these are must see events. There is also an expectation promoter/owner CV “Butch” Elms a multi-track champion of the Ridge will once again be competing in the series. Be sure to check the web site and our face book page for more information about this series.

The Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds put on a great show weekly at the Ridge and being able to host a series event at the hidden ¼ mile clay oval gem in the hills of Vermont is truly an honor. Several of the legends of the Ridge will be competing in the series, making the trek to New York for the other four events.

Everyone is anxious to see the 2024 season, the Ridge’s 57th consecutive to kick into gear on May 4th, you will be able to hear April May and Butch as they join Stephen John once again for all the highlights of Bear Ridge Speedway from the week before and what is coming up every Friday morning from 6:45 to 7:00 on WYKR.
