57th consecutive season of racing at Bear Ridge week 4.

For Immediate Release                                                                                                                                              BRS-05242024-1

Week four feature winners of the 57th consecutive season sponsored by 95.3 & 107.1 The Wolf were Todd Buckwold in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds; Jason Horniak in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes; Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets were off, High Country Dispensary Late Models were off, LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks John Fields, Woodsville Power Equipment Ridge Runners Kevin LaForest. Joe Mama’s Sporting Goods 4/6 Cylinder Enduro Chris LaForest, Sprint Cars of New England Scott Holcomb.

The fourth winner in as many weeks is recorded in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds as Todd Buckwold gets it done keeping his win streak of a win a year since 2021. Buckwold was able to hold off the hard charging Jason Gray who came from next to last to fall one spot short of getting his second win of the season. Tim Churchill looked to be headed to his first win leading the pack to lap 22 when he fell victim to Buckwold and then on lap thirty slipped back to third, where he would land when the checkers waved on the green to checkers event. Tad Kingsbury and Ashton Pierson rounded out the top five.

Another driver who may not win as much as he would like but does once a year, Jason Horniak gets it done earlier in the season in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes, hoping that maybe he can set a new trend and get it done again before the end of the year. Horniak had to work his way to the front and was able to get the jump on a restart to take the lead on hold on for the win. Cody Gregoropoulos, starting one spot ahead of Horniak takes home second with Ali Pushee crossing the line in third. Jason Gray doing double duty in a new Coupe and Tim Hodge completed the top five.

The Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets were off and will return to action on Saturday June 1st.

The High-Country Dispensary Late Models were off and will return to action on Saturday June 1st.

The LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks had a caution laden event with John Fields wondering if it was ever going to end. Fields survived the restarts created from each of the cautions to hold on to the lead which he grabbed on lap one and take home the checkers when they finally waved. Mike McClay was able to capitalize on the cautions and work his way to the front from the last row starting point to come home in second with Dana Carter grabbing the final victory lane spot crossing the line in third. A pair of rookies completed the top five with Keith Mansur after a disappointing night last week came in fourth and Tyler Fellows crossing the line in fifth.

Four triple crowns have been up for grabs and so far, Shane Stygles in the Woodsville Power Equipment Ridge Runners becomes the third driver to miss the coveted award by one position. Stygles who took over the lead from Katie Burroughs looked poised to be the driver to get it done, but Kevin LaForest coming from mid pack was not about to let that happen. LaForest took over the lead with just three to go, and crossed the line first on the lap that matters the most the last, taking home his second win of the season. Stygles was able to hold on for second his first trip to victory lane this season with Logan Martin coming home in third. Zach Audet and Stan Otterman rounded out the top five.

The Joe Mama’s Sporting Goods 4/6 Cylinder Enduro series had their first event of the season, a staple of the Memorial Day Remembrance of Lost Friends night of racing. Chris LaForest, a name we haven’t heard at the Ridge for awhile decided to give his brother’s car a try and quickly showed the crowd he still remembers how to get around. Starting from the next to last position in the starting grid he methodically worked his way to the front getting by Matt Boucher and sail on to win his first enduro at the Ridge. Boucher held on for second with Trevor Mears taking home third. Ryan Sayers and Tiellar Mitchell will be officially recorded as rounding out the top five. The Joe Mama’s Sporting Goods 4’6 Cylinder Enduro series will return to the Ridge on June 29th for their second event.

The Sprint Cars of New England (SCoNE) made their first appearance of the season, after a wild ride for the professor Chris Donnelly on lap one bringing out the red flag, the field went back to racing and ticked of their 25-lap main event with only one more caution slowing the pace. With Donnelly out of contention Scott Holcomb was able to capitalize on his draw position and hold of the pack to grab the checkers beating out Troy Comeau by almost four seconds. Jacob Williams joined the two in victory lane with Chase Moran and Floyd Billington completing the top five. The Sprint Cars of New England will return to the Ridge on June 29th.

Coming up this Saturday June 1st sponsored by The Woodsville Guaranty Saving Bank is our first Madness event of the season with the Woodsville Power Equipment Ridge Runners going for extra money and double points, also on hand will be the rest of the 99Rock weekly racing series divisions Sabil and Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes, Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets and High-Country Dispensaries Late Models LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks and Woodsville Power Equipment Ridge Runners.
