With just one regular points show and a double point show for all regular divisions left before the NE DIRT Track Championships night, the tension thickens as competitors hope to make their way to the top of the heap in the points standings. With a double points night still to come every division is up for grabs on who will be crowned king at the annual awards banquets in November at the Lake Morey Inn Fairlee VT.
In the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds Jason Gray pads his lead over Josh Sunn just a little bit more and if he tends to his knitting is poised to be the first in the history of the Ridge a four in a row track champion. This is Gray’s sixth win of the season, and is beginning to appear unstoppable, but we all know it isn’t over till its over, and anything can happen as the weeks to the 2023 season wind down. Robert Tucker joined Gray in victory lane still looking for his first win. Third goes to rookie Ashton Pierson, his best finish of the year. Josh Sunn and James Fadden rounded out the top five.
Another ticket stamped for entry into the end of year Growler event for the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes as Terry Williams scores his first win of the season doing in only his seventh event. Willaims beat out Matt Ellsworth who did a fine job redeeming himself from last week’s disappointing finish as he held on for second. Josh Harrington is scored the final victory lane visitor, crossing the line in third. Ali Pushee and Cooper Hodge rounded out the top five. This is turning out to the be battle of the ages for the crown as the top spot at the end of the night is now tied with Tim Hodge closing his points deficient to Ryan Christian. Third and fourth place are only separated by three points.
It was madness night The Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets with over twenty-five hundred dollars in lap money on the line to be earned over three segments. Segment one goes to Brandon Piastka with segment two going to Wayne Koehler his best finish of the season, and segment three to brother Daniel Piastka. The tight competition in this division would come down to how they finished in the third segment to break the three-way overall point tie. Justin Sheridan is declared the overall winner with his second-place finish beating out Brandon Piastka who crossed the line in third and Will Hull who finished in fifth in the final segment. Chris Murray ® and Daniel Piastka rounded out the top five.
It was madness night for the High Country Dispensary Late Models with over three thousand dollars on line between lap and purse money. Segment one goes to Matt Lashua, with Kelly Miller Sr taking segment two and Scott Heath scoring the third segment win. No surprise, Matt Lashua is scored the overall winner beating out Kelly Miller by two points. Rob Rugg is third overall. Scott Heath and Carl Eldridge completed the top five.
In the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks John Fields is only the second driver in the division to be able to say he has made it to the checkers first more than once. Starting from deep in the pack he took the lead and was able to hold off your points leader and the only other repeat winner so far this year Andrew Fitzgerald. Fitgerald would fall one spot short of a triple crown having to settle for the bridesmaid position with Garrett Brown joining the pair in victory lane. Aren Keene and Mat Pike rounded out your top five.
Once again it was an action-packed edge of your seat excitement in the Woodsville Power Equipment Ridge Runners as the fans watched the front runners in the points standings struggle to get to the front and a red flag for a half roll on the back stretch. When action resumed Keith Mansur found him self on point and would sale to the checkers for his first win. Doug Kenny and Shane Stygles joined Mansur in victory lane crossing the stripe in that order. With Hayden Bishop and Spencer Braley rounding out the top five.
