Terry Williams gets it done in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes

57th consecutive season of racing at Bear Ridge week 5.

For Immediate Release                                                                                                                                              BRS-06012024-1

Week five feature winners of the 57th consecutive season sponsored by the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank were Robert Tucker in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds; Terry Williams in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes; Brandon Piastka in the Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets, High Country Dispensary Late Models Kelly Miller Sr, LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks Mike McClay, Woodsville Power Equipment Ridge Runners MADNESS Segment One: Kevin LaForest, Segment two: Randy Morrill, Segment three: Kevin LaForest, Overall winner: Kevin LaForest.

If you are looking for some great racing with heavy competition, then you want to be watching the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds. Jason Gray, your four-time track champion, was hoping that his quest for five in a row would go a bit easier than it has so far. With five different winners in as many weeks, Gray is having to show up a hundred percent on his game, and hope that one of the heavy hitters he is competing against will have their mulligan night to help his points lead. So far that hasn’t happened as Robert Tucker becomes your fifth winner in the division beating out Max Dolliver at the line. Gray made his way to the front of the pack and picked up the final victory lane spot with Ashton Pierson and Jeremy Huntoon rounded out the top five.

In the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes the quest for the title is shaping up to one for the ages, as a seasoned veteran and an up-and-coming “youngin” swap the points lead back and forth. This division like the mods has some very still competition with any driver capable of grabbing a win, and four rookies showing great promise. Terry Williams, after a bad week last week, came back to vindicate himself and took home the checkers your fifth winner of the season. Ricky Sanville took home the second-place spot with Cody Gregoropoulos taking home third. Michael Danforth and rookie Lucas Wheeler completed the top five.

The Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets were back at the Ridge and as always put on a great show for the fans. With mechanical problems still plaguing Todd Mable the field was cut short by one when the green waived on their 25-lap main event. Chris Murray, the last winner in the division, had to work his way from the back of the pack as he also is trying to work his way back to the top of the leader board. Murray would climb all the way to third before the checkers waived, unable to set a real challenge on Brandon Piastka who was able to score his first win of the year. Joining the two in victory lane for the first time at the Ridge was Ethan Durocher who came home in second. Justin Sheridan and Will Hull rounded out the top five.

Kelly Miller gets his second win of the season in the High-Country Dispensary Late Models beathing out last week’s winner Scott Heath who came from the back to finish in second. Rob Rugg held on to finish in the final victory lane spot third. Cameron Grant and Tim Higgins finished out the top five.

Mike McClay tightens the gap between himself and Dustin Towle in the points battle in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks with his feature win. Towle would end up finishing one spot out of victory lane as he watched Matt Pike come home with his best finish in second and rookie Jacob Hall Larson making his first trip to victory lane taking home third. With Towel Tyler Fellows rounded out the top five.

It was MADNESS night for the Woodsville Power Equipment Ridge Runners, with over $4,500 dollars between purse and lap money on the line. Segment one started with Kevin LaForest on the pole due to him brining in the most laps for the event. LaForest was able to capitalize on his position and come home in the same position when the checkered waved on the first segment. The second segment was inverted from the first based on those on the track Randy Morrill, having a bad first segment started on the pole in the second segment and was able to hold on to the point at the end of the 22-lap event. Segment three once again inverted from segments two finish had Rick Stygles starting on the point, but he was quickly overtaken by Kevin LaForest and Zach Audet. LaForest takes home the final checkers and with a total of seven points is scored the overall winner of the madness event. Audet is scored in second with eight points and Kelly Miller Jr third with fourteen points. A post-race inspection found Miller disqualified, giving the third overall position to Travis King now with sixteen points and Katie Burroughs fourth with seventeen points. Randy Morrill rounded out the top five with twenty two points.
