For Immediate Release BRS-070216-1

BRADFORD, VT – The O’Reilly 4th of July extravaganza offered plenty of racing fireworks on the track and was concluded with one of the best fireworks shows in the sky in all of New England Saturday night at the Ridge.
It was all about the madness money for the Sabil and Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, as the drivers collected over thirty three hundred dollars which combined with their regular purse put them in competition for over six grand in purse money. Madness means lots of extra money and lots of extra racing for the division and lots of extra racing excitement for the fans. The mighty mods would kick off the night with the first of three thirty seven lap features in front of a very full house. On the front row sat Josh Sunn and DJ Robinson by virtue of them collecting the most laps for the night. Sunn got the jump of Robinson and began to rake in the point cash until Adam Pierson grabbed the lead on lap fifteen. Sunn would battle for the second place position for the rest of the first segment with Jordan Fornwalt taking the spot back from him on lap thirty one and hold on till the finish. Fornwalt finished in third with Tim Hodge in fourth and Kevin Chaffee rounding out the top five.
The second segment is inverted from the first of the machines on the track giving Lenny Pillsbury the opportunity to bring in some extra cash as he held on to the lead for the first fourteen laps. During that time Trevor Rocke was making his way to the front and took the lead from Pillsbury on lap fifteen. Rocke held on to the money spot for the rest of segment two claiming his first feature win of the season. Adam Pierson and Kevin Chaffee were able to work their way up thru the field to be in the spots that mattered by race end. Pierson came home in second with Chaffee grabbing third. Terry Williams and DJ Robinson completed the top five.
Segment three once again inverted from the previous finish gave Todd Buckwold the opportunity to bring the field to the green along with Kevin Dickenson. Buckwold would get the jump and set the pace for the first twenty laps. Of course everyone knows he is coming and on lap twenty one Adam Pierson took over the lead coming from the back of the pack and led the rest of them to the finish. Second would go to Kevin Chaffee with Buckwold holding on to third. Ryan Christian and Michael Dunn completed the top five.
The combined finishes gave Adam Pierson the win over Kevin Chaffee and DJ Robinson. Josh Sunn and Josh Currier rounded out the top five.
The Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes crowned another new winner when Michael Danforth took the lead over with just two to go to become the eight different one of the season. Chris LaForest and Buster Kathan set the pace on the first green with LaForest getting the jump. LaForest’s lead would be short lived when Jason Colbeth got by him on lap six. It was Colbeth until lap twenty four when Tim Hodge showed up to grab the point unfortunately he would make contact with the leader causing a yellow and both going to the rear for the remaining four laps. This put LaForest back on point and he would find himself just two laps short of his first win in the Coupes. Danforth wanted it more and got the lead on the white flag lap to steal the win from LaForest. LaForest did cross in second his best finish of the season with Matt Ellsworth joining them in third place in victory lane. Melvin Pierson and Jason Horniac completed the top five
Kevin Chaffee just can’t get a brake falling once again to the Manafort stable in the Laquerre Sports USAC DMA Midgets. Chaffee led the first twenty one circuits of the main event only to fall to Adam Pierson on lap twenty one. Pierson unless he brakes seems virtually unstoppable as he went on to grab yet another win. Team mate Josh Sunn would take advantage of lapped traffic to get by Chaffee on the last lap to steal second. Chaffee held on to third with Dean Christensen and Robert Tucker rounding out the top five.
The Mike Rivers Automotive Limited Late Models saw Tim Martin once again grab another win over JP Vallencourt and Brian King. Wayland Childs and TJ Morse completed the top five.
It didn’t take Danny Doyle in the Wayland Childs’ Weglarz Property Service Four Cylinder long to remember how to make his way around the track. Doyle took home the checkers the Mike Ryan coming home in second and Bobby Bell in third. Robert Welch came back from a disappointing finish last week to take fourth with Jesse Durkee grabbing fifth.
In the WYKR Sprint Cars of New England Jacob Williams led the first ten laps until Dan Douville took over the point and went on to grab the win over Chris Donnelly and Kevin Chaffee. Williams held on for fourth with Will Hull taking fifth.
