Week two of the 59th consecutive season of racing at the Ridge provided some wild action for the fans. Rob Williams gets his first win in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes
Nick Fretto does the same in the Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets
For Immediate Release BRS-05162026-1
The feature winners of the 59th consecutive season week two were Cody Gregoropoulos in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds; Rob Williams in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes; Shawn King in the Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Sportsman Modifieds Limited; Nick Fretto in the Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets, Ryan Christian in the High Country Dispensary Late Models; Andrew Fitzgerald in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks; and Ryan Sayers in the Woodsville Power Equipment Bobcat Ridge Runners. For the visiting R.E. Hinkley Granite State Mini Sprints Josh Ball is your winner in the 600cc and Jake Wolf in the 500cc.
Cody Gregoropoulos was able to get the jump on the start of the main event in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds and hold of the field in their green to checkers event getting his first win the mods. Gregoropoulos beat our Richie Simmons who was looking to vindicate his last place finish from opening night, doing just that with his second-place spot. Melvin Pierson also came back from a tough opening night to cross the line in third. The second rookie in the division had a great run taking home third with Kyle Huntington rounding our your top five.
It finally happened, usually if it weren’t for bad luck his wife would often wonder do they have any luck at all, but tonight the stars aligned and Rob Williams was able to score his first win in the Wells River Chevrolet-part of the Auto Saver Group DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes. Williams was able to take the point on the opening lap and survive a restart after the only caution on lap eight. It wasn’t an easy win with Lucas Wheeler dogging Williams almost every lap, just waiting for the proverbial slip that would give him the chance to take point. The slip never came and Williams beat him to the line by .287 seconds. Cooper Hodge joined the two in victory lane with Todd Buckwold and last year’s champion Michael Danforth Jr completing the top five.
In the Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Sportsman Modified Limiteds it’s all about the Kings who are showing the field of rookies what it takes to be a winner. This week son Shawn King beat out Dad King for the win with Keegan Tabor joining the family in victory lane crossing the line in third. The two rookie girls Jordan Robinson and Kaylin Pierson rounded out the top five.
In the Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets rookie Nick Fretto was able to survive a red flag restart after last year’s champion Chris Murray flipped his machine and came home with his first win. Brandon Piastka joined him in victory lane, taking home second with John Forlano coming in third. Daniel Piastka and Wayne Koehler rounded out the top five. The Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets return to action next week Saturday, May 23rd.
The High-Country Dispensaries Late Models struggled to get a lap in with a complete restart resulting in a red flag for the flip of Chad McAlpine. When racing was finally able to resume the field was informed that the next flag would be the checkers. Two laps later the yellow waved again with the checkers completing the race. The survival of the fittest had Ryan Christian on top with Kevin smith in second and Kelly Miller Sr third. Jeff Reynolds and Bradley Shanks completed the top five.
Double the cars, double the fun in the LaValley Building Supply, with fourteen drivers ready to take home the checkers. Coming from the other side of the mountain, always a strong contender at the Ridge Andrew Fitzgerald coming from mid pack would get to the front to score the win. He beat out last year’s track champion Tyler Fellows and John Fields who crossed the line second and third in that order. Tim Tucker, always looking to have a little fun climbing from the back to finish in fourth with last week’s winner Keith Mansur rounding out the top five.
After ending the year strong he is hoping to be a contender for the championship in the Woodsville Power Equipment Bobcat Ridge Runners this year and is off to a great start. Coming from mid pack he worked his way to the front, taking the lead early in the event. Ryan Sayers beat Zach Audet, last year’s track champion for the win with Riley Chaffee claiming the final victory lane spot. Kevin LaForest and Doug Boucher completed the top five.
The R.E. Hinkley Granite State Mini Sprints were in the house for the first of five events. In the 500cc Jale Wolf gets the win with Wyatt Coutermarsh and Bentley Robbins following him to victory lane. Ainsley Davis and Jackson Davis completed the top five. In the 600cc Josh Ball wins again beating out Cody Willette and Teagan Daignault. Mark Wiggett and Josh Wright rounded out the top five.
Coming up this Saturday May 23rd is a SPECIAL general admission event with a full card of racing sponsored by Leroux Brothers Inc with the VP Racing Fuels Sportsman Modifieds East Region series event and the High Country Dispensaries 4/6 Cylinder Enduro series.
