Bear Ridge Speedway "the fastest dirt track in Vermont" promoters/owners C.V. “Butch” Elms and April May Preston-Elms are excited to announce a new sponsor for the weekly racing. 95.3/107.1 The Wolf along with Heath Cole have been a longtime supporter of the Ridge sponsoring the annual Memorial Day remembrance of lost friends race night. When the weekly racing series sponsorship opened Heath and Jim Whedon of Binnie Media the parent company were eager to jump on board.
Having worked with Heath for over twenty years now, both at the Wolf and other stations before that, we are really pleased that we were able to offer Binnie Media an opportunity to enhance their involvement with us. This partnership affords both of us an opportunity to expand our respective footprint in Vermont and New Hampshire, and we look forward to a long-standing relationship with the team at 95.3/107.1 The Wolf said Preston-Elms.
C.V. “Butch” Elms with wife April May Preston-Elms continue to host the best short track dirt racing in Vermont, making this one of the few tracks in the United States that has for 58 consecutive years always been owned or operated by the same family.
95.3/107.1 The Wolf weekly racing series includes the DIRTcar Sabil & Sons Sportsman Modifieds, DIRTcar Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes, Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets, High Country Dispensary Late Models, LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks, and the Woodsville Power Equipment Ridge Runners. Plus, the once monthly Joe Mama’s Sporting Goods 4/6 Cylinder Enduros. New for 2025 with be the Sportsman Modifieds Limited Division. In addition to the 95.3/107.1 weekly racing series divisions the Ridge will host the R.E. Hinkley (when at the Ridge) Granite State Mini Sprints and the Sprint Cars of New England (SCoNE).
Everyone is anxious to see the 2025 season, the Ridge’s 58th consecutive to kick into gear on May 3rd, you will also be able to hear April May and Butch as they join Stephen John once again for all the highlights of Bear Ridge Speedway from the week before and what is coming up every Friday morning from 6:45 to 7:00 on WYKR.

2025 driver and crew membership applications are now available on the website. Be sure to get yours sent in early to beat the lines on opening day. Get your application in today, to ensure your car number for 2025. All numbers are held until March 1st. Enduro numbers will be assigned at the first event. To be eligible for the Bear Ridge Speedway points fund, and recognized at the annual awards banquet, drivers must hold a 2025 Bear Ridge Speedway or DIRTcar license, compete in the required number of events, and run on track designated tires as indicated in the rule book.
The price of a regular show general admission (front gate) ticket for adults (ages 16 to 61) is $15.00 a person and children 11 and under $2.00. Teens (12 to 15) and seniors 62 and older are $13.00. Military Discounts are available at $5.00 off for those with a valid ID.
The back gate (pit gate) ticket price for Bear Ridge Speedway and DIRTcar 2025 license holders is $30.00.
Non-license holders are $35.00 (both prices include the front gate ticket.)
Bear Ridge Speedway is an alcohol-free family friendly entertainment spot, with our goal to make each experience at the Ridge better than the last. We continue to offer the best source of good, inexpensive high-quality entertainment for families.
Visa and MasterCard are accepted. Racing begins at the famous “6:00-ish” start time every Saturday starting in May through September.
