Bear Ridge Speedway "the fastest dirt track in Vermont" is putting together another year of edge of your seat racing entertainment as they celebrate their 57th consecutive season, and their 12th year under the DIRTcar Banner with a stellar line up of events and the return of long-standing sponsors.

It is hard to believe that the Ridge in 2024 will be offering some of the best dirt track racing in New England for the 57th year in a row, all of which have been owned and operated by the same family. Starting back in 1968 when Charles Elms working with George Barber introduced coupe racing to the hills of Vermont, a vision that 57 years later is still going strong as the Ridge continues to be the “Home of the Coupes”. In 2024 son CV “Butch” Elms with wife April May Preston-Elms continue to host the best short track dirt racing, making this one of the few tracks in United States that has for 57 years always been owned or operated by the same family.

This feat would not be possible without the many long-standing sponsors. For the 12th year under the DIRTcar banner 99ROCK will return as the weekly series with a stellar line up of race night sponsors FMS NAPA of Bradford, JTB Towing and Recovery, Swenson Insurance, Walker Motor Sales, Wells River Savings Bank, and Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank, have been with the Ridge for decades. In addition to these cornerstone sponsors, the Ridge is very fortunate to have several long-standing sponsors such as Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply, Dennis Preston Builder, Sabil & Sons, and Valley Floors who continue to support the weekly racing.  This year’s twenty-two-week racing season is filled out with Ron’s Fix It Shop, 95.3 & 107.1 the Wolf on our Memorial Day Remembrance of lost friends’ night, Pellerin Auto Parts, Body & Automotive who host our 4th of July Extravaganza night in conjunction with Noise R Us fireworks, Montshire Farm, and General Auto Salvage hosting the DIRTcar track championship night. We are also very pleased to announce two new sponsors in 2024, Falcon Tires, Murray’s Market Nursery & Landscaping LLC, Red’s Auto Spa, and Twin State Tractor have joined our weekly line up. All sponsors regardless of their length of support are what helps make the Ridge possible on a weekly basis, to host the best DIRTcar short track racing for our fans, and we sincerely thank them.

Of course, our 99wfrd Weekly Racing Series Division Sponsors are also another key to our success, with Sabil & Sons sponsoring the first of our two headline divisions the DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds and Wells River Chevrolet the sponsor of our second headline division the DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes. In addition, the Ridge is proud to have the Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets on the docket as a regular division along with the High Country Dispensary Late Models, LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks, Woodsville Power Equipment Ridge Runners, and the Joe Mama’s Sporting Goods 4/6 Cylinder Enduro Series. Visiting divisions will once again be the R.E. Hinkley “when at the Ridge” Granite State Mini Sprints and the Sprint Cars of New England.

FMS NAPA of Bradford will once again be hosting the first green flag, opening night, of the season on Saturday May 4th, 2024, following the annual Bear Ridge car show at the Bradford Fair Grounds from 10:00 to 1:00. Racing action will start at our famous 6:00pm(ish).

Everyone is anxious to see the 2024 season, the Ridge’s 57th consecutive to kick into gear on May 4th, you will be able to hear April May and Butch as they join Stephen John once again for all the highlights of Bear Ridge Speedway from the week before and what is coming up every Friday morning from 6:45 to 7:00 on WYKR.

2024 driver and crew membership applications are now available on the website. Be sure to get yours sent in early to beat the lines on opening day, and to guaranty your number. All numbers are held until March 1st. To be eligible for the Bear Ridge Speedway points fund, and recognized at the annual awards banquet, drivers must hold a 2024 Bear Ridge Speedway or DIRTcar license, compete in the required number of events, and run on track designated tires as indicated in the rule book.

The price of a regular show general admission (front gate) ticket for adults (ages 17 to 61) is $12.00 a person and children 11 and under $2.00. Teens 12 to 16 and seniors 62 and older is $10.00. Military Discounts are available at $5.00 off for those with a valid ID.

The back gate (pit gate) ticket price for Bear Ridge Speedway and DIRTcar 2024 license holders is $30.00. Non-license holders is $35.00 (both prices include the front gate ticket.)

Bear Ridge Speedway is as an alcohol-free family friendly entertainment spot, with our goal to make each experience at the Ridge better than the last. We continue to offer the best source of good inexpensive high-quality entertainment for families.

Visa and MasterCard are accepted. Racing begins at the famous “6:00-ish” start time every Saturday starting in May thru September.
