The Silent Springtime
Hello Race Fans ,
First and foremost Sprint Cars of New England hopes that each of you and your families are all healthy and doing as good as you can during these difficult times. Since our racing season doesn't start until the month of May SCoNE has not had to postpone any events up to date. We are optimistic that our schedule will be impacted in some way by the COVID-19 shutdowns. With SCoNE we travel to 4 different race tracks in 2 different states so we do not control the events at each track. Our track partners want to race as bad as anyone and are working very hard with there state leaders to open up on time . As of today the state of VT has a date of 5/15/20 set by the governor to keep the current restrictions in place . The state of NH has the date of 5/04/20 set by there governor . These state "stay at home orders" are in affect and may change now that many state officials are needing there people to return to work and so fourth. When the orders are lifted there most likely be restrictions on the amount of people allowed to gather in a public setting. These are just an opinion I have not spoke to any officials in either state. SCoNE will be monitoring closely at what our race tracks do. The race tracks and promoters are at the mercy of regulations changing almost daily by state and federal government. Good luck to all involved .
The economic impact of the COVID-19 shutdown has hurt SCoNE in securing a 2020 series sponsorship. SCoNE was very close with 2 great companies to work with us a marketing partners . Both have had to decline due to the sudden change in there business . We respect there decisions and hope to work with them in the future in any way we can. SCoNE was able to secure a couple more contingency partners to help us out and we thank them for helping us grow. It is no secret that SCoNE would like more teams to run with us and we were looking like we could get a few new teams. With the economic impact we still hope these teams are able to afford to join us and hopefully the race fans can afford to come see us race. SCoNE enjoys racing at our tracks but the new event at The Flat Track at NHMS could open us up to some new race fans that have never seen 360 sprint car racing in person, which in turn would send them to our other 3 tracks and enjoy what they also offer for a good value and great entertainment. SCoNE would like to have some shirts and merchandise done to be able to sell to our race fans and such but the cost is the bottom line on what we will be able to do during 2020. If you know someone or a business that would like to be featured on our merchandise please contact SCoNE and we would be happy to discuss the options available . Everyone loves a new racing shirt so a company could get good advertising at a great price. Also if you or someone you know would like to work with SCoNE as some type of marketing we would again like to discuss many options.
The SCoNE race teams would like to say THANK YOU to all of the front line workers keeping there communities strong during this pandemic. The doctors , nurses, healthcare, grocery store , janitorial , truck drivers , and others who support them . Too many to list here but they all need a THANK YOU and hopefully this summer we can thank them somehow when they can relax and go to a SCoNE race. And also we would like to remind you to go out and support your local small business that has been effected by this, order take out from your local restaurants , buy from local farmers , etc... These are the companies that help support race teams at your local race tracks and should be who we look for first when we need to get services. Weather its a home project or vehicle work when you have a choice please choose a business that is being hurt during these trying times.
With so many questions about what will happen and new social distancing regulations , who really knows whats in store. At least when at a dirt track you sometimes see someone wearing a mask and its already cool. Think of all the new racing mask that will be made soon. Maybe you will be seen wearing a SCoNE face mask, and let everyone know you are smiling underneath the mask. We will keep you up to date as soon as the news starts to come in .
