Bear Ridge Speedway

Second weekend of closed practice sees everyone cooperating with COVID-19 requirements Yet another week, week five of season canceled due to COVID-19

For Immediate Release BRS-052420-1

With the canceling of week five, May 30th due to COVID-19 the month of May closes out at as the first May in 53 years that the fans have not been in the stands to watch some of the best dirt racers on the fastest dirt track in New England. We continue to update and adjust our schedule in an effort to be able to bring back our sponsors later in the year, week five to have been sponsored by Woodsville Guaranty Saving Bank.
As we continue to wait for the lifting of restrictions, we have been able to have a couple of closed practices for registered 2020 drivers of the Ridge. We are very pleased that everyone present adhered to our COVID-19 safety precautions during both of the sessions. We are in hopes that we will be able to continue ramping up our efforts and be able to throw that much anticipated green flag on 2020. We continue to align our plans with the Governor’s softening of the state restrictions.
With everyone wearing a face mask, asked the COVID-19 health questions and temperature checked two practice sessions were held. We wish to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to all the participants and crews on site for the practices. Upper Valley Ambulance once again was very impressed with everyone keeping their masks on at all times, and practicing social distancing. SO again we THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for your cooperation and helping set the standard on what racing will look like as we move thru 2020. We all got it right both ti
Bear Ridge Speedway’s number one goal is to make sure that we do everything in our power to keep all our competitors, crews, staff and eventually fans safe. So when you get the chance to join us at the Ridge in 2020 please be sure to be wearing your mask as you will need to, to be able to be a part of the Ridge in 2020.
In our next press we will make the decision regarding June 6th. We are just as anxious as everyone is get back to racing, but it is first and foremost more important to do everything we can to keep us all safe and healthy. In the meantime as we remember our lost friends we continue to hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy.
Applications continue to come in for the “99ROCK wfrd” Weekly Racing Series divisions. All forms are available on line on the website. To be eligible for the Bear Ridge Speedway points fund, and recognized at the annual awards banquet, drivers must hold a 2020 Bear Ridge Speedway or DIRTcar license, compete in the required number of events and run on track designated tires as indicated in the rule book.
As we progress, we will keep you updated of any changes. As you know Butch won’t cancel till the last minute, so we are holding out hope that things may be swinging back to a new “normal” in the near future. The 99ROCK wfrd weekly racing season will then see weekly competition in all five divisions. Racing will kick into gear at 6:00 pm(ish), based on track conditions.
We at Bear Ridge Speedway hope and pray that everyone is staying healthy and safe. Please know we are monitoring the guidance from state and health officials, and are trying to act accordingly in the best interest of our competitors, employees, and of course all of you the fans.
Remember in today's society we could all use a little more family entertainment, and the Ridge is your best place to be for just that. The admission price is more than reasonable; the show top-notch, the food superior, and the family friendly atmosphere is just what you are looking for.
