The Newport Chevrolet NE Crate Motor Nationals ends the 2017 regular season of racing at the Ridge with some of the best edge of your seat dirt track racing in New England.
Joshn Sunn comes back to get his second win in the DIRTcar Sabil & Sons Sportsman Modifieds. Starting from deep in the pack he was able to pick off his way to the front to take the lead and score the win. DJ Robinson grabed the second place spot, Jason Gray came home in third. A pair of tens rounded out the top five with Ryan Christian getting fourth and your 2017 track champion Derek Graham taking fifth.
The Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes see one more new winner as Jason Horniac is finally able to make it happen, crossing the checkers first from his outside pole starting position. Melvin Pierson takes home third with Chris LaForest claiming third. Todd Hayward crosses in fourth and your 2017 track champion Brian Chaffee grabbed fifth.
In the Laquerre’s Sports USAC DMA Midgets Dean Christensen is declared the winner in the points while Will Hull is declared the winner of the night joining him in victory lane was Jeff Horn and Joe Krawiec. John Heydenrich and Dean Christensen rounded out the top five.
The State Farm Mike Estrada 4/6 Cylinder Enduro started out three wide with cars lined up around the track. As the checkers waved Kevin LaForest was declared the winner over Chris LaForest and Joe Doucette. Michael Labounty and Tim Kingsubry finished out the top five.
The WYKR Sprint Cars of New England made their final appearance of the 2017 season with nineteen cars strong. Setting fast time and having the fortune of drawing the pole in the redraw, it was all Scott Holcomb’s race to loose. Holcomb was having nothing to do with that and would go on to score the feature win over Matt Hoyt and Clay Dow. Chris Donnelly and Dan Douville completed the top five.
Bear Ridge Speedway’s 50th season of dirt car racing continues SUNDAY October 15th for a “Fun Day” at the Ridge. Featuring two fifty lap endures, a demolition derby, chain races, backwards racing the Wingless auto club and more! Racing action starts at 1:00 pm General admission for is $10 for adults, teens, and seniors (62+), and $2 for children; Visa and MasterCard are accepted. Racing begins at the famous “6:00-ish” start time.
Bear Ridge Speedway is as an alcohol free family friendly entertainment spot, with our goal to make each experience at the Ridge better than the last. Remember “Dirt where every lap is the last lap” we continue to offer the best source of good inexpensive high quality entertainment for families.
