Brian Chaffee ninth feature winner in the DIRTcar Wells River Sportsman Coupes
Adam Pierson takes his seventh win in the DIRTcar Sabil & Sons Sportsman Modifieds

BRADFORD, VT – Midseason championships Shirley & Mickey Bruleigh memorial are recorded in the record books, signifying the season is already half over with the points battles starting to take some serious shape across the divisions.
Adam Pierson once again started from the last qualifying spot in the Sabil and Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds worked his way thru the field to the front and on lap forty three got by DJ Robinson for the lead and sailed on to claim his seventh win of the season. Before he made it to the front Trevor Rocke was on point until lap thirty seven when Robinson got by him. Rocke continues to struggle to get that first win, but if continues on at the pace he has been he is surely going to able to add his name to that list. Today would not be his day with Pierson grabbing the win followed by DJ Robinson and Kevin Chaffee in victory lane. Rocke and Todd Buckwold rounded out the top five.
The Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes crowned another new winner when Brian Chaffee took the lead away from Josh Harrington on lap thirty six. Harrington led every lap to that point. Chaffee has been struggling to get his first win and this one awarded him an extra $100.00 for the win being a first time winner of 2016. Harrington was able to hold to second with Jason Horniac coming home in third. Buster Kathan had his best finish of the season coming home in third and Bob Shepard completed the top five.
The Mannafort stable continues to appear virtually unstoppable in the Laquerre Sports USAC DMA Midgets. The two by virtue of points and last week’s feature winner standings are starting in the back of the field each week and having to work their way to the front, and seem to be able to do it like it was merely a Sunday afternoon drive. Manny Dias lead the first half of the race until being over taken by the legion Ray Miller who made a circuit before Robert Tucker took over only to be over taken by Miller. Both would succumb to the Manafort stable on lap eighteen when Adam Pierson and Josh Sunn drove by. Adam Whitney found himself sitting in third and with just three to go looked like he was going to be the one to make it to victory lane with Pierson and Sunn, when over driving saw him in the infield coming back out in eleventh. Robert Tucker was the one who found himself in the sweet spot crossing the finish line if third for the final victory lane spot. Dean Christensen and Ray Miller completed the top five.
Tim Martin took over the lead on lap eight in the Mike Rivers Automotive Limited Late Models and went on to claim his eighth win of the year. Danny Doyle took second and Derrick Stearns took third. Don Reynolds came home in fourth with Bryan Campbell in fifth.
Danny Doyle was the winner in the Weglarz Property Service Four Cylinders. At time of press the results were not available. An update with complete finish will be posted on the web site later this week.
Bear Ridge Speedway’s 49th season of stock car racing continues on Saturday, July 23rd for the a full card of racing featuring the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes, Mike Rivers Automotive Limited Late Models with their madness night, and the Weglarz Property Service Four Cylinders. (Laquerre’s Sports USAC DMA Midgets off). Plus the Granite State Mini Sprints and the Sprint Cars of New England all brought to you by Interstate Battery of Newmont and JTB Towing and Recovery. Special admission pricing applies: $13.00 adults; $10.00 teens & seniors, and $2 for children; Visa and MasterCard are accepted. Racing begins at the famous “6:00-ish” start time.
