Inside Line Promotions – BRADFORD, Vt. (Sept. 28, 2014) – Alex Bright scored his 30th top five of the season on Saturday.

Bright took advantage of a late opportunity to make his debut at Bear Ridge Speedway, where he drove for Bobby Seymour during the DMA Midgets event.

The night kicked off with Bright setting quick time during qualifying. He then drew the No. 6 for the feature inversion, which lined him up on the outside of the third row for the 30-lap main event.

“In the feature I was in fifth and was racing with the fourth-place car about 10 laps in,” he said. “The third-place car spun out and we were all right there. We both got into him. I ended up bending the w-link, but I was able to keep the car going.”

Bright restarted third and quickly advanced into second place, but the handling of the car became an issue following the collision.

“It felt a little bit different,” he said. “After I bent the w-link the car didn’t handle the best. On a couple of restarts the car stumbled. By the time I’d get going I’d lose a spot and have to race back into second. By that time the leader was several car lengths ahead of me.”

Bright finished with a second-place result, which provided good momentum as he prepares to close out the season.

“I want to thank Bobby Seymour as well as all of the different owners I have driven for this year,” he said. “It was a good season. We’ve had 11 wins and 30 top fives, but I feel like we should have more wins and better finishes. There were some races that were out of our control as far as problems go.”

Bright, who is only one feature win away from tying his career best in a season, has one more race scheduled – the ARDC Midgets season finale on Oct. 18 at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Pa. – before he heads to Australia to race for a couple of weeks in November.

He is seeking a ride for the final three USAC Honda National Midget Series events of the season – the Gold Crown Midget Nationals at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, Ill., this Thursday through Saturday; the 47th annual Western World Championships at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz., Nov. 20-22; and the 74th annual Turkey Night Grand Prix at Perris Auto Speedway in Perris, Calif., on Nov. 27.

Bright can be reached via email at ABright86@aol.com.
