KRAWIEC THE CHAMP AFTER VIETS TAKES DMA FINALE
Joe Krawiec of Bristol, Conn. became a two-time USAC DMA Midget Champion Saturday night at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt., finishing second in the 40-lap series finale and emerging with a seven-point margin over defending champion Kevin Chaffee in the final standings.
Scott Viets of East Granby, Conn. won the 40-lap finale, passing Krawiec on lap 33 and leading the final eight laps of the race. Chaffee was third ahead of Scott Holcomb and Dean Christensen.
Adam Pierson led the first 13 laps before Josh Sunn led the next five. Krawiec then led 14 before yielding to Viets.
