DMA MIDGETS CONCLUDE SATURDAY AT BRADFORD; VIETS SNAGS BEAR RIDGE 25-LAPPER
The 2013 USAC DMA Midget series concludes this Saturday at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt. Two former champions and a third challenger are the top threats to take the title. Defending champion Kevin Chaffee trails 2011 titlist Joe Krawiec by eight points, with Scott Viets just 16 out of the lead.
Viets, of East Granby, Ct., led the last seven laps of Saturday’s race after passing Scott Holcomb on lap 19. Krawiec finished second ahead of Chaffee, Dean Christenson and Adam Pierson. Saturday’s race awarded “double” points.
This Saturday’s race offers Krawiec or Chaffee an opportunity to crack the winner’s circle for the first time this year! Krawiec has four seconds and a third in 2013, while Chaffee has two seconds and three thirds.
