Richie Simmons gets his first win in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds Brothers Pierson 1st & 2nd in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes Bear Ridge Speedway’s 4th event of 50th season of racing.

For Immediate Release                                                                                                                                                                      BRS-052717-1

A Crisp clear night has plenty of hot racing on the track with a record number Sportsman Coupes on hand and Late Model numbers tripled from prior weeks.

The Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds were brought to the green by Todd Fenoff and Mike Ryan for their forty-lap main event. Fenoff got the jump on Ryan with DJ Robinson sliding into second and Michael Dunn sitting in third. This is how the picture would look for about the first half of the event. By lap sixteen Richie Simmons had worked his way from mid pack to set a challenge on the victory lane spots. A slip up by Fenoff gave Simmons the point at half way and from there he held on to grab his first win of the season. Dunn had a very impressive run able to hold on to second with Derek Graham having come from deep in the pack to take home third. Todd Fenoff crossed the line in fourth his best finish at that Ridge with Josh Currier coming home in fifth.

The field of Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes were brought to the green by Derek Stearns and Matt Ellsworth. Unfortunately, their time up front would be short lived. Tonight, it was all about the Pierson brothers as they worked their way to the front of the pack over the thirty-lap main event. A red flag for Robert Kilburn’s hard hit in the wall, who was reported A-OK, and a couple of cautions gave the brothers the opportunities need to keep the pack bunched up and their ability to work their way thru it, Elder brother Gene took the point away from Brian Chaffee on lap sixteen and from there he held on to the point until the checkers waved grabbing his first win out of retirement. Brother Melvin got the jump on Chaffee with just one lap to go taking home second place with Jeremy Beckley tight on his tale sliding thru for third. Chaffee held on to finish fourth with Jason Horniak completing the top five.

Laquerre’s Sports USAC DMA Midgets off returning June 3rd.

It was all Ryan Christian in the C.A. Miller Limited Late Models as once he got by Wayland Childs for the lead, it was clear sailing to the checkers. Childs would slide back in the pack giving Bryan Campbell and Toby Stark the openings for the second and third place spots in victory lane. Derrek Stearns and and Kevin Dickinson completed the top five.

Weglarz Property Service Four Cylinders’ most popular driver in 2016 Buddy Welch capitalized on his upfront starting spot as he crosses the line first under the checkers to get his first win of the season. Jesse Durkee still looking for his first win crossed the line in second with Steve Bell in his best finish of the season coming home in third. Dennis Perry and Bobby Bell rounded out the top five.

State Farm Mike Estrada 4/6 Cylinder Enduros had their first of 5 events for the season with thirty cars taking the field for the green. A fiery red flag would wave on lap nine as Chris LaForest’s machine went up in flames. LaForest escaped with no injury and racing would resume. Sixty-six laps later the checkers would wave over the field with Corey Mossey crossing the line first. Tim Martin held on to second with Carl Sweet taking home third. Anthony DeRosia and Chad Martin completed the top five. The State Farm Mike Estrada 4/6 Cylinder Enduros return June 24th.

The WYKR Sprint Cars of New England hit to the track with seventeen machines. When the checker waved, it was Luke Hayward grabbing the win followed by Will Hull in second and Clay Dow in third. Matt Hoyt and Dennis McLeod completed the top five.
