Bear Ridge Speedway gearing up for its two very popular annual car shows.
This year you will find the Upper Valley Car Show hosted by Bear Ridge Speedway at the Wal-mart/Borders/Price Chopper Plaza on Sunday April 13th. The show is being sponsored by US Cellular, and as in the past you will be able to see friends of Bear Ridge Speedway, such as New England Karting Association, Granite State Mini Sprints, Thunder Road, Riverside Speedway, Sugar Hill, Claremont Speedway, Devil’s Bowl Speedway to name but a few on hand with displays of their 2008 competitors along with the stars and cars signed up for competition at the Ridge.
The show is scheduled to run from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and KIXX radio will be on hand with a live remote from noon till 2:00. Kids will be able to get into the #5 Sportsman Modified to see firsthand what it is like inside the cockpit of these mighty machines.
We will be holding a raffle and 50/50 to help raise funds for the widow of Jim Corless. Our announcer at the Ridge who was taken from us this past week suddenly. The registered drivers competing at Bear Ridge Speedway in 2008 will be given an added bonus for being present at the show by earning themselves a chit for a drawing position for their first qualifying event of the 2008 season.
The next show will be on Saturday May 3rd at the Bradford Mini Mart which will be followed by practice at the Ridge with FREE grandstand admission. As with the April 13th show all drivers registered to compete present at the show will earn a chit for a drawing position for their first qualifying event on May 10th.
The drivers with 2 chits (having been present at both shows) will be the first group eligible for drawing their starting position, and will also be competing for a $25.00 dollar bonus for the driver drawing the lowest numbered spot for each division. The drivers with 1 chit will be the second group eligible for drawing their starting position, falling in behind the first group. All remaining drivers will fall in behind for their starting spots.
When the season’s opening flag waves on May 10th general admission tickets will be for adults (ages 17 to 61) $10.00 a person, children 11 and under free, $8.00 for teens 12 to 16 and seniors 62 and older. Season passes are available for general admission. Adults $150.00, Seniors and Teens $130.00. We now accept Master Card and Visa at the front gate (only) We will also accept MC and Visa for season passes. One race passes and season passes are good for grandstand gate only. Pit gate fees will be $20.00 for members (cannot be combined with free one race or season passes.)
